Authentic Berbere paste with spices of East Africa

Our Berbere paste is made of Berbere from Addis Abeba, Ethiopia. The word Berbere means hot or spicy. Berbere is a traditional spice blend that is the backbone of Ethiopian and Eritrean cuisine which is used in many different dishes, including Ethiopia’s national dish, Doro Wat or Eritrean Zigni (chicken stew).

This fiery blend is a melange of spices mixed and matched in individual kitchens, sometimes in different blends for different dishes. We use this spice as our main ingredients for our paste. With our paste you can make delicous stews but you can also use it for vegetables and as a rub for your favourite bbq. You can enjoy it with injera, bread or rice. Its up to you!
